Sue Watches Buffy #40 “Once More With Feeling”

buffy-musical-episodeIf you can’t tell from the commentary that came out a few days ago- we watched Once More With Feeling. THEN the three of us (Newbie Bronwyn featured in the commentary) PLUS special guest Carol recorded a podcast about it. We had a blast talking about this landmark episode and getting more thoughts out of Sue and B about how it is all going down. And where DO (they think) we go from here? (Now I can write that and the newbies get it. Yay!)

Join us! I had to cut out the Tabula Rasa stuff because it was all just too long. The fortuitous thing is– Sue and I are going to be at a retreat of sorts next week, so we don’t have to worry about putting a podcast out. Except I will. I will have to edit it, but that I can do.

IdjitCast Season Two Episode Eighteen “Hollywood Babylon”

If you wish to support John at this difficult time, please check out http://www.gofundme.com/jti3w0#

This week, Dean goes Hollywood while Sam goes research. Yep, the side trip Dean had all planned out ends up with Sam’s nose in books and Dean’s nose in his favorite movie starlet. At least.

Heidi joins us in our full-length discussion, and you can listen along to hear points like:

Paul is far, far away or at least sounds that way, and Darcy has no sound at all due to a spring cold.

What do “Lord of the Rings,” “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” “Sunset Boulevard,” “Mallrats,” & “Much Ado About Nothing” have in common? Listen.

*Not actually McG

“Damn, I’m gonna get mistaken for that guy again…”

“That’s what I get for having a tennis ball head.”

Everyone has a favorite electrician.

Em, B, and Sue Watch Once More With Feeling

buffy-musical-giles-anya-tara-willow-xanderWell, for better or worse, we have recorded a commentary track.  Basically, Em and Sue spent the weekend in Wyoming together and we set aside some time to be able to watch this landmark of television history together as B and Sue experience it for the first time.  We couldn’t resist having a digital recorder going in the room while it happened, just to record the event.  Therefore, the audio from the episode is very prominent, so what that means to our podcast listeners is that you either have to mute your tv as you watch so you can watch along- or you can simply listen to it like a regular podcast.

I mean- who by now needs to even watch it at this point?  We’ve seen it enough, our minds can fill in the visuals.  Enjoy.  There isn’t a ton of talking- but there is plenty of (raucous?) laughter.

ps sorry about all the kids- we had a house full of them.  They were upstairs with the rest of the fam- but they still managed to make their presence “felt”.

Sue Watches Buffy #39, S6: eps Flooded – All the Way

kittenpoker5In this installment of the podcast, Em and Sue discuss Flooded, Life Serial, and All the Way. Somehow we find ourselves also discussing James Bond, Joyce’s life insurance policy, worms and eggs and 10,000 years in Buddhism. You know- just another day while Sue Watches Buffy. (You have to stay until after the song to hear about the worms and the eggs, one of those “Sue stories” about her weekend shenanigans.)

We really did talk a lot about these Buffy episodes too– and we did our best to not speak too bitterly about Willow’s actions these days (fail) and tried not to beat the “household money problems dead horse” too much.

P.S. Sue’s “Once More With Feeling wish list” is a must listen!

IdjitCast Season Two Episode Seventeen “Heart”

If you wish to support John at this difficult time, please check out http://www.gofundme.com/jti3w0#

In this episode, Sam gets horizontal with a girl he only recently met. They didn’t show him using protection, but maybe if you pause you might see the wrapper. They certainly didn’t have an explicit shot of him putting on a flea collar…

We kick off with the words “burly” and “stroke.”

Maybe we’ll get Gremlins later on…

Creepy tantric thing.

Don’t think too hard about paper.

More underwear than I know what to do with.

You’ve got heartstrings in your teeth.

Sue Watches Buffy #38 S6: Eps- Bargaining – After Life (+ WWBW)

627

We’ve made it to season 6 guys! In this episode of the podcast, Sue watched both parts of Bargaining and After Life, and had some surprising reactions (to me anyway -her sister-). Em and Sue spend some time talking about the state of the Scoobies and what’s up with Spike. We also both have a lot of feelings about everything Dawn has been through. There is also the subject of Buffy and her after life shenanigans. Tune in to hear our thoughts! Also you should write in so we can hear YOUR thoughts.

Before all this though, we discuss a few other things we’ve been watching. Sue checked out some new programming and Em mostly watched some old programming in a fevered haze. Good times!

View from the Peaks: Episode Seven – “The Last Evening”

There are two things about this show that I really appreciate, the score that sounds like it was lifted directly from the movie “Labyrinth” and the fact that there are no time jumps. We are on the eighth episode and it’s only about six or seven days after Laura died.

The one thing that drives me nuts: the fact that the episodes are simply titled “one”, “two”, “three”, and the pilot didn’t count as “one”.

Anyway, we pick up right where the last episode left off. The teens search Dr. Jacoby’s office, Cooper finds the guy they have been looking for and gets him talking, and Audry gets her spot at One-Eyed Jacks.

On to the second half of the episode aka the part where everyone dies/get’s screwed over. Really, I have no clue who’s responsible for what but let’s do a body count.

  • Dr. Jacoby – beat over the head with a rock (but recovering)
  • Norma Jennings – OD’d on pills (slight chance she might pull through)
  • James Hurley – framed for drug dealing
  • Leo Johnson – shot by Hank (dead)
  • Jacques Renault – smothered by Leland Palmer (dead)
  • Shelly Johnson and Catherine Martell – trapped in the burning mill (unknown)
  • Pete Martell – ran into the burning mill (unknown)
  • Audrey Horne – about to be discovered by her father
  • Agent Cooper – shot (unknown, but I’m 99% sure that he’s wearing a vest)

So there’s the first season. Thankfully season two is full, 22 episode, run.

Quote of the Episode: “Wait, what? What?! WHAT IS HAPPENING???!!!” – me

IdjitCast Season Two Episode Sixteen “Roadkill”

If you wish to support John at this difficult time, please check out http://www.gofundme.com/jti3w0#

This week, the boys are flagged down by just the person they were looking for, but things go downhill from there. In the end, they help a woman learn a whole lot she didn’t know about herself, and get to an ending George Lass would be proud of.

Annie from the North Texas Browncoats ( http://northtexasbrowncoats.com/ ) joins us again this week, and the following occurs:

We say John will join us in progress, then he immediately arrives, but just as quickly disappears until arriving again. (There’s a slight chance the out-of-sequence recording is not as seamless as I had intended.)

Paul inserts the words “as the Trickster” into an email where they were not originally. This changes meanings and confuses us all for a bit.

Paul confesses not having watched Battlestar Galactica and Darcy recalls loving Lorne Greene as Adama.

Paul confesses he’s all smarty-pants, at least insofar as guessing this episode’s twist.

Some creepy Pearl Jam song?

The Bone-Burnin’ Hokey Pokey?

Darcy flagellates Paul with a catnip mouse.
