Yes Mother: A Bates Motel Podcast, Season 2 finale “The Immutable Truth” Part II

imageHere is the second part of Em and Sue’s discussion of the finale and it gets real up in here on old Yes Mother. Ponderings and feelings and stories come out as we get to the nitty gritty parts in the episode. Souls were bared people.

Anyway, we discuss what we thought of the demise of the weed empire “giants” (giant sacks of nothing and crap they were), among others, we discuss Norma and Dylan’s relationship, Norma and Norman’s, and Norma(n)s. We also say good bye to White Pine Bay for the greater part of a year. *Sniff*

Join us- we think you will have a good time along with us. We also discuss the future of our podcast (or what will be going on in the interim).

Yes Mother: A Bates Motel Podcast, Season 2 finale, “The Immutable Truth” Part I

imagePart I? Yes- we found so much to talk about on this gem of a finale, we kind of kept going for 2 podcasts worth. We forwent What We’ve Been Watching though, to make up for it. In this finale, we get Norman rescued, see a couple deaths we have all been hoping for, watch Romero be Batman, see Emma get some answers (and then promptly want to put those answers right back where they were), and Norma face some very tough decisions- but at least she wasn’t alone to do that (and big no- we don’t mean George). Norman needs to pass a seemingly impossible lie detector test…. But we don’t get to most of that here. In this first part of the podcast, Sue and Em discuss feedback and everything up to and including Norman’s (that’s the ship name Norman’s) “last” dance. We also pretty much swoon and go all girlie on all the touching moments the show provided, then we discuss Buffy podcasts for a while.  Join us!

Ghostlight Podcast Season Three, Episode One “Divided Kingdom”

960

It’s back to New Burbage for the third and final season of “Slings & Arrows!” Geoffrey, Richard, and the rest of our troupe should be basking in success. The festival has been saved from financial disaster. Geoffrey’s “Macbeth” has just wrapped a run on Broadway. There is a new and exciting season fast approaching, and “King Lear” can have a big-name Canadian Actor and a special effects budget.

But Geoffrey’s psyche has thrown uncontrollable public weeping into the mix. He is unable to get his head into the game with Lear, and with choosing from a broad range of talent for his lead. Richard is struggling with living like a successful man, and an unexpected bad date throws his whole raison d’etre into question.

Throw in Darren Nichols directing a major stage musical, and you just know it is going to be a certain special, uncomfortable fun.

Listen in as we:

Discuss the comparative merits of different kinds of fog-making.

Ponder over just what musical Darren might have in mind.

Look forward to a drug storyline which is not being played for stupid pot jokes.

Con O’Drisceoil wrote the theme song, and you can get a book/CD set that includes his original recording here: http://celticgrooves.homestead.com/CG_Book_ODrisceoil_Spoons.html

Yes Mother Podcast: What We’ve Been Watching for Ep #20

Holy1Kind of a quiet week here in our other watchings. Sue finished Veronica Mars and watched a little Wonder Woman. Em watched Freddie Highmore in Toast (in this movie he has step mother issues). She also watched the mother of all What the Bip movies: Holy Motors.

Find out what we thought of all this and then stay for a little story time with Sue entitled, “Sue’s Dinner with Meth Heads”.

Yes Mother Podcast: Episode #20 S2E9, “The Box”

bates-motel-the-boxThe season is winding down, but not quietly. Dylan is faced with a very tough decision, Norma is going out of her mind not knowing where Norman is, Romero is determined to get answers, and Emma just wants to know why everyone asks if she has seen Norman (has anyone seen Cupcake Boy??). Meanwhile, Norman finds himself in… a box. He isn’t in there alone for too long though, and I don’t mean his bug visitors wink-wink (hint: I mean Norma). He also ends up accompanied by some unpleasant memories.

Join Em and Sue once again as we discuss this very exciting penultimate episode of Bates Motel!

Investigating Mars Episode #066- President Evil

In this episode of Veronica Mars, Keith tracks down a deadbeat dad and Wallace is having trouble in school. Kim joins us for this episode of the podcast where we wish Veronica would quit accusing Weevil of wrongdoing, we plan a doggy cam episode, and did Wallace ever show interest in being a mechanical engineer?

Yes Mother Podcast: What We’ve Been Watching for episode #19

gravity-imax-posterWelcome guests to the what we’ve been watching segment of Yes Mother. Em traded her 1960’s advertising firm for a 1910’s London department store. And Sue totally got her geek on. If you want to hear what that is all about, give us a listen.

And guess what? Somewhere out there right now… there is a tarantula the size of your head biting a small land animal for it’s supper.

Cheers.
