Ghostlight Podcast Season Two, Episode Six “Birnam Wood”

960

In this, the final episode of Season Two, Richard rides out the Youthquake, as the Festival becomes the Hot Ticket it had been before. Geoffrey tricks Darren Nichols into feeling something. Darren and his cast definitely wind up feeling something. Henry returns to the role of Macbeth, but Geoffrey and the cast conspire to make him play the role with the blocking Geoffrey intended. After a sponsor’s speech turns unexpectedly emotional, Geoffrey and Ellen reassess their relationship.

Also Discuss: “Topsy Turvy” “Moonlighting” “The Tall Guy” “War of the Roses” “Romancing the Stone” “Jewel of the Nile” Cable TV Mtv David Lee Roth… (Tangent Bell!!!)

I am very pleased to reveal one of our new hosts of the Idjitcast. Please welcome our new Expert, John Pavlich!

I have listened to and worked with John for many years, and am very excited to have him aboard the rebooted Idjitcast.

Also SPOILER ALERT!!  This podcast has a section at the end where I disclose all the ways in which I may have been spoiled going forward. This is to avoid any possible situation where the Newbies cross-spoil each other (“So, everyone knows Angel is a…”). This section will be at the end of each Newbie Host Intro that follows as well.

Spoiler Section begins at approximately 7:12, and continues through the end. Do not listen if you are a newbie, or if you are planning to view along with us as a Newbie Listener! There is a Spoiler Alert Tone immediately preceding.

Ghostlight Podcast Season Two, Episode Four “Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair”

Screenshot 2:12:14, 7:55 PM

Geoffrey settles into new luxury digs, in props storage, with his BGFF Oliver, living the life of the half-crazed dumped guy.  Ellen is forced to get financial with Revenue Canada, and meanwhile the festival’s finances suffer further downfall under Froghammer’s ad onslaught. Darren Nichols gets his brain way too far around Romeo and Juliet. The possibly pseudonymous Lionel Train almost rehearses his reading and dates Anna in the meantime. Henry Breedlove is an ****, Juliet gets her Romeo, and Ellen’s brother-in-law itemizes her deductions.

Listen in as we:

Discuss but not reveal a visual tie between this episode and the pilot of “Supernatural.” (I won’t go further here, but if you’ve seen both it is readily apparent and amusing)

Dispel the notion of how comfy prop couches are

and

Teach just what angle is optimum for playing a clarinet.

Ghostlight Podcast Season Two Episode Three “Rarer Monsters”

Screenshot 1:22:14, 9:43 PM

It’s cursed! CURSED!!! Let’s all say “Macbeth” in the theatre and may misfortune reign! The Macbeth curse trips up the director of “Romeo & Juliet,” or was it mere belief in the curse? No matter, reborn-in-Berlin or not, pretension is sure to follow. Revenue Canada is coming for Ellen, as the thin veneer of denial over Oliver’s return is shattered and she begins to choose up sides in contentious debate over the aforementioned work…

Hear as we discuss the World’s Oldest Interns, Mr. Archer’s rage, and what’s-her-name from Season One (or that boat movie?) And did Geoffrey blow up his Ikea furniture, or did we just get confused?

I am the Marmot! Goo goo ga joob!

Ghostlight Podcast Season Two Episode Two “Fallow Time”

slings-and-arrows-fallow-time-07

It’s Christmastime in New Burbage! The festival is struggling, but the Minister of Culture has a Christmas gift – oh wait, no, a loan. Yep, people don’t have that much of a pottymouth when it is a gift. So the festival is rebranding and wacky marketing firms don’t come around everyday.

Geoffrey & Ellen are settling in for relative domestic bliss, Christmas tree and all. But Geoffrey is stuck while working on Macbeth, despite boxes and boxes of Oliver’s notes. When he finally consults the notes, then Nahum’s declaration may have come true. Does mere production of this show “open the door to the other world and beckon them?”

See hammered frogs, supermodel girlfriends and christmas trees decorated with — Fetish gear???

Ghostlight Podcast Season Two, Episode One “Season’s End”

627 (1)

Welcome to Season 2 of the Ghostlight Podcast! Episode 1 “Season’s End”

It’s closing performance time for Geoffrey’s Hamlet, and a wrap for the season. Jack has to move on to movies, but should Kate follow or remain behind for the promised role of Juliet next season? Ellen and Sloan commit then split. Richard is sorry for his behavior with Holly. Holly’s departure also marks the departure of a lot of funding, and the festival is in serious financial trouble. Will the unluckiest play be a ray of hope?

Listen as we discuss budding movie careers, the life of an actress, theme songs, and a certain piece of lighting equipment…

Bonus Episode!

Amy Bowen gets tired, especially after watching lots of Slings & Arrows.  Perhaps she has done the only kind of binge-watching allowed for a newbie, a rewatch from the beginning through the current episode?

When you get extra-tired and media saturated this way, your subconscious may begin to write the show for you. It did for Amy and the result is a dream-consciousness sort of fanfiction.  Being an experienced podcast storyteller, she could not help but share it for your enjoyment!

The regular podcast will return very soon with Season 2, Episode 1 “Season’s End.”

Ghostlight Podcast Season One, Episode 6: “Playing the Swan”

swan

Welcome to the final episode of the first season of the show!  The performance of the opening night of Hamlet is in serious doubt as Jack, the title performer, is nowhere to be found following a disheartening conversation with Richard.  Meanwhile, we finally get explicit detail into just what happened following Geoffrey’s famous leap into the grave, and into madness. Relationships are tested, redemption is achieved, and a major character gets eaten by swans. (No really!!!)

Hear us discuss Crabby Muppets, Nazi Collaborators, Swan Throttling, and Scrooge’s Long Underwear.
