Gaming Paper™ sheets, the latest innovation in role playing and miniatures accessories will make its hobby debut at Gen Con Indy 2009™. Its creator, Erik Bauer, is excited to offer this new product to the gaming masses at the year’s biggest hobby event.
“Gaming Paper™ sheets finally offer a low-cost alternative to expensive battle maps and tile sets,” Bauer explained. “We’re looking forward to offering this inexpensive, reusable, and yet disposable product to gamers.”
Bauer, a longtime Dungeons & Dragons™ player, invented Gaming Paper™ sheets after searching for a low- cost alternative to gaming mats for use in his own campaigns. Bauer owns GrandLAN Gaming Center, a LAN center and gaming store in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. After getting feedback from customers at his store, Bauer created the product and is excited to launch it at Gen Con 2009.
“The dual nature of the product is what really makes it stand out,” said Bauer. “You can draw something quick and dispose of it cheaply, or create elaborate maps for reuse over and over again. Imagine commemorating a great role playing adventure by hanging the map on the wall when you’re done! The possibilities really are endless.”
Gaming Paper(TM) sheets can also be placed beneath pre-generated terrain features, functioning as a backdrop for further adventures. It can be easily cut into any shape needed, including “area of effect” overlays for powers and character effects.

Gaming Paper sheets will feature 1-inch grids and are sold in convenient rolls that are 30 by 144 inches, for 30 square feet of playing surface. At only $4 per roll, they are a fraction of the cost of other gaming mats on the market. Not only are they usable for miniatures games, but they are also ideal for role playing games. Anyone can use pens, markers, or other simple writing implements to create detailed terrain for campaigns or miniatures battles. Later this year, gaming stores will also have the option to carry Gaming Paper sheets in bulk rolls, in order to sell it to customers by the foot.
